New Release-1 2009 Overlord: Dark Legend for Wii

Overlord Planning on Dominating the Wii

Overlord was last year’s hit from Codemasters, a game which puts you in control of a fellow of a great many evil deeds, who in turn controls quite a few minions.

The hook for this game was that while you controlled the Overlord directly in order to spread your chaos and destruction throughout the land, you had no direct control over your minions. Instead, you had to rely on specific commands you could give the Overlord, which would in turn command the minions in where to go. This often lead to some humorous battles ending in smashed pumpkins on minion heads, sheep being set aflame, and many other funny scenarios.

Climax Studios is working on a sort of prequel for Overlord which will be a Wii-exclusive release. Dark Legend plants you in the boots of the Overlord yet again, but this time in his younger days of commanding minions to bring death in destruction. Along with the new platform, Dark Legend will bring new gameplay mechanics. The game looks quite a bit like the original Overlord, which is quite the accomplishment given the Wii’s hardware compared to that of the 360, or PC. However, the gameplay has changed quite a bit. Paths in the original Overlord were pretty linear and guided you through the game, but this is not the case in Dark Legend as it has more open spaces for your to explore. Dark Legend also gives the player direct control of the minion, with the ability to point them in the precise direction you want them to go with the Wii-mote.

Aside from the controls, Dark Legend seems as if it will play quite a bit like the original game. You’ll be completing a variety of different quests in the same fantasy world, with your minions causing chaos and wreaking havoc along the way. Another great aspect of Dark Legend is the ability to choke your minions. You can pick a minion from your horde and violently choke him until his eyes glow yellow. After you let the minion go, he’ll act as a sort of rocket, which will automatically hone in on any nearby enemies and detonate on impact. As with the older game, the color of the minion will have an effect on what the bomb does when it detonates. Regular brown minions will detonate like a normal bomb, while your colored minions will have added effects such as healing and area effect explosions with napalm effects.

Overlord: Dark Legend is scheduled for release sometime in 2009.

Wii Shop: The Place For Imaginative Sports Games

Of all the next generation game consoles, the Wii is one of the best. This is a truly innovative system that brings various aspects of game play into the picture. Gone are the days where you sit and play with a single handheld controller. The Wii has made it so that you have to get up and move and you become part of the game itself.

The Wii is a truly innovative system, and is considered by many to be one of the best of the new game consoles. You have many new aspects of game play, unlike games of the past where you had to sit and play with a single controller. You are now able to become part of the excitement by getting up, and moving around just as you were actually playing the game.

The Wii athletic games are among the most superior ones available. They can be bought at the Wii retail store or from a neighborhood video game outlet. There is a really broad assortment to select among – for example, ones that relate to water activities, bowling alleys, and classic pastimes like baseball and basketball.

There are many games at great prices that are available at the Wii store. This system is one of the most affordable on the market. The games are also reasonably priced. You will love all of the choices that are available to you with the Wii. Look at the Wii shop for your new system!

The sports games that are made for the Wii are special. If you have ever wanted to have a chance at bat, then you will love the Wii version of baseball. You will work on your swing so that you can hit numerous balls out of the park. Impress your friends with you great ability in Wii sports!

There are numerous Wii games that allow you to go swimming in the ocean and see all kinds of amazing creatures, including sharks! These games tend to be more soothing and can be very enjoyable. Even though not technically considered to be sports games most of the time, they will get you active while playing and progressing through them.

This is an original system that lets gamers play, enjoy and move at the same time. This will do a lot to counteract the idea that video games are helping to make people fat and lazy. The Wii and the Wii shop combine the love of video games with our need to exercise! We get a rigorous workout while having fun.

Super Smash Brothers Brawl for Wii

wii playable games online How To Play Super Smash Brothers Brawl Online? Nintendo Wi-fi Connection Errors

On March 9th at Midnight marked the release of a Nintendo Wii game that would revolutionize the Nintendo Wifi. That game was Super Smash Brothers Brawl. North America was now able to Brawl Online. Many errors still exist because it was the first major Nintendo Wifi game release. There are simple solutions to the following errors you might encounter with either your internet connection or your Nintendo Wii.

The first error you might encountered is delayed game play. This happens most often when you are Brawling in four man matches. Other reasons why this error occurs is because of a weak wireless signal or loose cables in the back of the Wii. Another solution to remove the delay is to reset the wireless router or disconnect any computers that aren’t in use.

If you are disconnected completely do not sweat because the game assigns a CPU to take your place the second you are disconnected. The next error/problem that occurs is people can’t get connected to other people in Anybody Mode and are waiting in a white room with a sandbag for minutes.

If you experience this error reset the game and if there is a timer in the white room you can get connected to other people in Anybody Wifi Matches. If you do not see a timer you will be waiting in that white room until you exit or get disconnected.

In order to play matches in Friends Wifi Mode you must have your friends Nintendo Wii Brawl number. You can find friend numbers on a lot of Nintendo and Smash Brothers forums online. Nintendo is fine tuning the Wifi settings and game play programming slowly as they find bugs. So over time is will be perfected to be exactly like a standard 2:00 minute Brawl match.

Any other questions or concerns can be found at the Nintendo Wii Wifi help and support online.

Wii Fit Entertainment and Exercise

Wii Fit Merges Entertainment and Exercise

Surprisingly, Nintendo’s Wii system managed to bridge the gap between two very different communities – fitness enthusiasts and gamers – and became wildly successful in the process. Now, Nintendo plans on capitalizing on that success with the Wii Fit bundle.

Wii Fit Merges Entertainment and Exercise More and more the Nintendo Wii is really starting to look like the perfect marketing storm. The system has surpassed both PS3 and X-Box in sales, and supply isn’t even close to meeting demand (units don’t even sit on shelves, shipments simply fly in and out of stores every couple weeks). With its reasonable price (at least $100 lower than the aforementioned systems) and unique spin on video-game play, the Wii has become a downright phenomenon. But perhaps just as key to the system’s success is the way the Wii has managed to tap into the fitness market.

Nintendo will further blur the line between gaming and fitness on May 19th, when the company releases the Wii Fit bundle in the United States. The Wii Fit bundle includes a wireless balance board and over 40 exercise routines. The board can support a person weighing up to 660 pounds, and it uses a person’s weight and balance to compute body mass index (BMI) – which determines if a person is within weight range, underweight or overweight. The software also tracks a user’s progress over time, so they can see improvements to BMI. Users are encouraged to measure their BMI daily, and the creators of the Fit bundle claim the balance board is one of the most accurate scales you can buy. The Wii Fit also can tell if a person’s weight distribution is uneven and provide tips on improving balance.

The Wii Fit’s hefty $89.99 price tag is at least justified by the wide range of exercises it includes. The exercises are grouped under four different training modes: strength training, yoga, aerobics and balance games. The strength training category offers a series of extensions, lifts (arm and leg), squats, twists, lunges, planks and more. Meanwhile, the yoga category coaches users through a variety of different positions and breathing exercises, and aerobics allows players to do stepping, rhythm boxing and even hula-hoop challenges. Finally the balance games include heading a soccer ball, walking a tight rope, doing ski jumps and more. When a person starts an exercise, a trainer (designed by the user) appears on screen. Throughout each exercise, the trainer provides the user with personalized feedback. All of the games and exercises utilize the balance board in some way, so the system (and your trainer) can tell exactly what you are doing and how you are doing it.
Wii Grand Slam Sports Pack
Given that the Wii has already become a surprise hit among non-traditional gamers who use it as a fitness tool, the release of the Fit bundle makes sense. There have been reports of elderly communities, mothers and trainers all using the Wii as a means of exercise motivation. And, truly, the repetitive motions of certain games (e.g., tennis) give muscles enough of a workout that many people experience soreness the next day. Though Nintendo has been reluctant to refer to the Wii as a fitness solution, the company is certainly aware of the system’s adoption into American fitness culture. While health-conscious groups have complained for years about how video games make kids lazy, Nintendo (whether intentionally or unintentionally) has managed to bridge the gap between the gaming and fitness communities. By capitalizing on that crossover appeal with the Fit bundle, sales of the Wii system could be propelled even further out of the stratosphere.

The Wii Fit Bundle will be available in stores on May 19th with a retail price of $89.99 (though, if it’s anything like the Wii system, don’t expect it to stay on shelves for long).

WiiWare Games – 2008 To Download On Your Nintendo Wii

WiiWare Games – New Games To Download On Your Nintendo Wii

Nintendo debuted their new games to download on Wiiware. Here’s the list of first releases. There will be new Wiiware games every Monday.

It’s another great week for Nintendo Wii owners. Nintendo just launched their first six WiiWare games for download from your Wii on Monday, May 12th and there’s something here for everyone – whether you are a casual gamer or prefer to get more involved with your game play.

Here’s the first six games launched on Wiiware:

Defend Your Castle is based on the popular online flash game and it has whimsically amateurish graphics to compliment the gameplay. To play you just need to keep all the stick men from invading your castle during the day. At night, you fortify your castle and convert the stick men guys into your allies.

Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: My Life as a King – Yes, it’s an incredibly long name for an incredible game. This is essentially a kingdom building game, sort of like The Sims or Animal Crossing games. It also has a pay to play feature which means that after your initial download, you can buy add-ons (costumes, buildings, etc.) to make your kingdom even more unique. I expect this will be the sort of game that many players will get engrossed in for months.

LostWinds is probably one of the sweetest of the new games. The graphics are beautiful in this little platforming game that makes such great use of the Wii Remote. You use a gust of wind to blow the little character around so he can climb to places he otherwise wouldn’t get to. I think this is the must have game for this week’s release.

Pop is a bubble-busting casual game. If you just need a diversion for 5-20 minutes or so, then this is probably what you’re going to want. You pop bubbles to score points and you can score more points the more bubbles of one color you pop together.

VIP Casino Blackjack – It’s a blackjack game so you know how the gameplay works. It’s definitely cool if you like card games as it actually gives you a 3-d game set at an actual blackjack table. In other words, this isn’t a port from your mobile phone. It’s much cooler.

TV Show King is your trivia game. This would be the game you download to play with your friends, at a party, with your family. Not sure how fun it would be alone, but if you are looking for another party game for your Wii, this is it.

You can expect new Wiiware titles every Monday and Nintendo has quite a few fun things in store for the future, including Dr. Mario. Unlike the Virtual Console games, the Wiiware titles have either been designed for the Wii specifically or were ported with the Wii in mind and use the Wii remote to good advantage.

Right now all of the games in the US cost between $5 and $15 which isn’t bad at all, and for both Final Fantasy and LostWinds, I think the prices of $15 and $10 respectively are both a steal.

Not sure which Wiiware Games to download? Check out the WiiWare Game Reviews, including prices and screencaps of each title released by Nintendo.
